REMINDER: Beltane Fair 2009

Don't forget about the Mélange Magique Beltane Fair that is happening over the weekend of April 25th and 26th, from 10am to 6pm on both days. There will be FREE workshops and discussions all day long (see the schedule for details) as well as an artisans' crafts fair, storytelling, 6 authors signing books and a 10% sale off everything in Melange Magique (as if the rest were not incentive enough!!).

Click here to download it as a pdf document: BeltaneFair2009.pdf

Our honored guests and authors include Helmut (of Helmut's Forge), Judika Illes, Arin Murphy-Hiscock, Brendan Myers, Sian Ried (aka Meredith Macdonald), Rob St. Martin and Greg Stroll, along with local guest speakers Asherah and Apollonius, Meri Fowler, Melanie Halpert, T. Scarlet Jory, Valerie Laville, and Karyn Torrie. Whats more is that we have two wonderful storytellers at the open and close of our fair, Sarah Comrie and John David Hickey (aka Hobbes).

We are very excited to be hosting what looks to be the event of the season, and truly hope that you will come and join us!

EVENT: Pagan Sunday Brunch for April (new location)

April 26th, 2008, 10 am sharp

** SPECIAL LOCATION **
La Croissanterie
1909, rue Sainte-Catherine West
Downtown Montreal (across the street from Melange Magique)
514-932-2604
Breakfast: $5 - $15

They say that a moving target is harder to hit, but that's not why the location has changed again!

EXCEPTIONALLY in April, because of the Bealtane Fair being held at Melange Magique on April 25th and 26th, we are holding the Pagan Sunday Brunch nearby at La Croissanterie.

Come join your fellow pagans for brunch and socializing at La Croissanterie. No level of pagan experience is necessary, but as long as you can wield a knife and fork like a guru master, you'll be respected and admired by your peers. Come and have breakfast with your fellow pagans, guest lecturers, vendors, and who knows who else?!

This is a kid-friendly event, so feel free to bring your offspring.

If you have any questions, email me at jdhobbes @ yahoo.ca. If you don't know anybody, don't fret. We'll be at the back of the room, just being ourselves.

Happy Ostara to All

On behalf of the MPRC, I'm wishing a happy Ostara to everyone. Plant your seeds and enjoy your choco bunnies!

If you want to do something to celebrate the coming spring season, go to your clothes dryer and collect as much lint as you can (you might have some in a trash bin nearby). Go to your backyard or local park and put the lint on the bushes or in the trees.

As mad an activity as this may seem, it is useful because lint is excellent construction material for the birds as they make their nests this spring.

Enjoy!

Les soumissions seront encore acceptées, alors veuillez voir www.artefati.ca pour plus de détails, ou contactez Emily directement.

HELLO!
Spring is finally back and this is an announcement to say that we will in fact be continuing with the gardening activities in the Maguire meadow this spring-summer-automn. 2009 will quite possibly be the last year the field will be in its fullest glory (before the Plateau Mont-Royal goes ahead with their development plans). Do come out in large numbers! Now is the time to show borough mayor Helen Fotopulos that we care about this place. We want to demonstrate to make it clear to her that the field needs to be conserved. The book (www.artefati.ca) is coming along very well. It too, will be presented to Helen when published in the spring to demonstrate why this place is culturally valuable. We are still welcoming submissions! Check out www.artefati.ca for details about submitting, or contact Emily directly.
